"An incredible performer.
We had him play and sing live on the air with his guitar and
harmonica and everyone in the studio was so moved by the emotional
singing and guitar playing. A bluesy Bob Dylan." Iris
Lavi- 88FM WTLV
"A very very inspiring disc. I've been
listening to it alot." Dave Gordon-Canadian News Magazine
"The warmth of his singing reminds me of
a modern Johnny Cash and the acoustic and electric guitar
solo's on this album are things which reach deep into the
soul." Ben Davidson-The Post JRS
From my earliest memories I can see Dad's folk
guitar leaning against the couch. His soft finger picking
and soothing words of the songs he wrote for us seem to have
had its influence on me. I don't remember being in the house
without hearing something playing on the stereo. Dad had a
great record collection.
There was plenty of Blues, Folk and Jazz, B.B.King,
Bob Dylan, early James Taylor, Jerry Jeff Walker and Kris
Kristopherson albums playing over and over.
Growing up in the small country-sea town of
Madison CT I spent a lot of time in the woods and by the water.
There are certain musical styles that fit in well with these
surroundings. Folk, Blues, Country... My first High School
bands were influenced by Neil Young, Willy Nelson, Bob Dylan,
Stevie Ray Vaughn...
In High School I was already touring around
as lead guitarist for Legacy on the CT shoreline. I then went
on to major in Music at Skidmore College in upstate NY.
This is where I started to define more or less my personal
playing style. I like to call it Folk, Spirit, Blues. Of course
one can hear the Country and Rock influences mixed in. My
songwriting and singing also started in college. The Chapter
11 Band was warming up for people like Johnny Winter and Little
Feat in the Saratoga area.
After college it was back to the country of
CT and the creation of my own original band The Last Mavericks.
The band became very successful with eventual interest and
a showcase with Atlantic Records. They brought me down to
NYC to do more recording and to make a long story short I
realized that if I want to have my own album released I better
do it my self. So here you have it after a few years finally
in 2004 The Folk Spirit Blues has been indepently released.
Thanks for all your E-Mails. Enjoy the music and all the best.
