She was born in 1979, has blonde hair, and
blue eyes, from Collinsville, IL.-- but at heart, Jennifer
Norman is just an old-fashion country girl. In a recent interview,
Western Star Records recording artist tells us more about
her life.
"I learned to sing growing up in church, and listening
to the country gospel sounds of Glen Campbell, Bruce Haynes,
and Michael James. I have been playing music most of my life.
In october 2002, I met up with Robert Metzgar of Capitol Management
in Nashville, and he helped me a lot showing me the ropes,
and getting me started in the music business. (He was the
executive producer on this cd.) I am no longer working with
Robert as my producer, but I do owe him many thanks for helping
me get started.
I married the love of my life in August of 2003, and couldn't
be more happy.
I work full time in the newpaper business as an advertising
account executive, but I love country music, and my hopes
and dreams are to be up on the 'big stage' singing for thousands
of screaming fans, and I hope you're there.
I've been fortunate enough to be able to perform in front
of thousands of people in my local area on T.V. news shows,
minor league baseball games, and events such as fairs, carnivals
and weddings, and clubs. I have taken several trips to Nashville,
TN to perform live on various TV shows. "Nashville On
Stage" that is being aired several times on Nashville's
local PBS channel, and the Nashville showcase.."Keeping
Country Alive." In February of 2004, I had the chance
to compete in the "Kountry Klub Idol 2004" contest
in Taylorville, IL at the Nashville North USA concert club.
Although I did not win the title of the "Kountry Klub
Idol 2004", I did make it to the semi-final round, and
had a great time doing it,and met a lot of wonderful people.
I love being on that stage, under all the lights with a great
band behind me!
I don't try to sound like anyone, although I have been told
that I sound a little like Patty Loveless, and also Teri Clark.
I have my own style, and that is the way I like it. My personal
favorites in country music are Dolly Parton, Chalee Tennison,
Gary Allen, and Reba Mcentire.
I chose these songs because I love the 'heart' that I can
put into them as I sing them. I want a song with a meaning,
and hope that I can just a shade of a memory in someone's
life.
you can also find me on the Western Star Records compilation
disc. Roger Blair, the president and CEO of Western Star Records
has been very instumental in getting me some radio play overseas
in Switzerland, Belgium, New Zealand, and Australia...and
now I have been added to stations in Australia, and Ireland...and
several stations here in the USA.
Please remember...if you like what you hear, call your local
country radio station and tell them about me, and where they
can hear me also.
